First released in 1999, this report is now prepared annually by the Research Section of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme (UNDCP), which is part of the Vienna-based United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The report takes a statistical approach to assessing the status of world supply in and demand for illicit drugs. Based on data and estimates collected or prepared by Governments and UNDCP, as well as by other specialized agencies and international institutions, it attempts to identify trends in the evolution of global illicit drug markets. Reporting on a largely clandestine sector where information is by definition difficult to obtain, Global Illicit Drug Trends constitutes at present the most comprehensive published source of estimates and statistics on the global drug problem.

The UNESCO Science Report series was launched in 1993 under the name of World Science Report series. The State of Commodity Dependence provides a bird’s eye view of commodity dependence in the world. It contains individual statistical profiles for the 195 UNCTAD member States, each comprising of 30 indicators under 4 subtitles - merchandise and commodity export dependence, commodity import dependence, key socio-economic indicators, and indicators on technology. As commodity dependence tends to negatively affect poverty alleviation and food security, a set of indicators is included to help monitor trends in these areas. For each individual member State, 2008-2009 is used as the historical reference period. Moreover, an in-depth analysis of commodity dependence in the 195 UNCTAD member States is presented at the beginning of the report with key messages.

L'Accord européen relatif au transport international des marchandises dangereuses par voies navigables intérieures (ADN) a été conclu à Genève le 26 mai 2000, à l'occasion d'une conférence diplomatique tenue sous les auspices conjoints de la Commission économique des Nations Unies pour l'Europe (CEE-ONU) et de la Banque centrale. Il est entré en vigueur le 29 février 2008. L'ADN se compose d'un texte juridique principal (l'Accord lui-même) et de règlements annexes et vise à assurer un niveau élevé de sécurité du transport international de marchandises dangereuses par voies navigables intérieures. Il vise à contribuer efficacement à la protection de l'environnement en prévenant toute pollution résultant d'accidents ou d'incidents lors d'un tel transport ; et à faciliter les opérations de transport et promouvoir le commerce international des marchandises dangereuses.
