Abstract

Las zonas andinas de América Latina abarcan una vasta región de cordilleras donde alternan altas cumbres, laderas y valles relativamente angostos; allí, ríos y quebradas conforman una gran cantidad do cuencas habitadas por grupos poblacionales dispersos que ejercen una fuerte presión sobre los frágiles recursos renovables existentes.
